The Güdel Group AG , based in Langenthal, is an internationally active Swiss industrial company that specializes in the engineering and manufacture of linear and drive components . The company builds automatic production lines , linear guides, racks, pinions, gears, linear axes and gantry robots for the automotive industry , railways, intralogistics, metal, tires, pharmaceuticals and systems for the aircraft industry .

The third generation family company was founded in 1954 by Alfred Güdel as a small drive technology company. Under the management of Rudolf Güdel (1949–2014), who took over the business from his father in 1979, the company gradually developed into an international group in linear, drive and system technology with subsidiaries in Europe, Asia as well as Northern and Eastern Europe South America. The Güdel Group employs around 1,100 people and, according to its own information, generated sales of 272 million Swiss francs in 2019.
