Günter Agde

Günter Agde (* 1939 ) is a German film historian.

Life

Agde studied theater studies from 1957 to 1961 at the Leipzig Theater Academy . From 1975 to 1992 he was a research assistant for film at the Academy of the Arts of the GDR (since 1990 Academy of the Arts in Berlin ). 1985 doctorate him Humboldt University of Berlin with a thesis on position and performance of the feature film director Kurt Maetzig (1946-1976) Dr. phil.

Agde wrote several works on German film history and DEFA , film exile and contemporary history. After 1989 he published the volumes of documents on the 11th plenary session of the SED Central Committee in 1965 and on the Soviet special camp No. 7 Sachsenhausen . He is a member of the Association of German Film Critics and a founding member of the CineGraph Babelsberg association, co-founder and longstanding author of the magazine Filmblatt and has taught film history at the Free University of Berlin and at the HU Berlin. He lives in Berlin .
