Günter Bierbrauer

Günter Bierbrauer (* 1941 ) is a German social psychologist.

Life

After completing his doctorate at Stanford University under Lee Ross, teaching and research stays at several German and foreign universities, including the University of Friborg, Switzerland (Faculty of Law), Bergen and Trondheim, Norway, Berkeley, USA, Warsaw, Poland, University of Lucerne (Faculty of Law). His teaching and research focuses on social psychology , legal psychology, intercultural psychology as well as negotiation psychology and conflict management.

Bierbrauer was professor of psychology at the University of Osnabrück from 1977 to 2006 , and was also a permanent visiting professor for forensic psychology at the law faculty of the University of Lucerne . Bierbrauer was among other things a founding member of the "Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies", the "Graduate College Integrative Skills and Wellbeing" at the University of Osnabrück. He was also the scientific coordinator of the "Project Association for Peace and Conflict Research" in Lower Saxony. He has published works on justice and conflict regulation, migration and multiculturalism.
