Günter Herterich

Günter Herterich (born June 15, 1939 in Stuttgart , † April 21, 2014 in Cologne ) was a German SPD politician .

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Günter Herterich studied modern history at the universities of Freiburg, Madrid, Paris and Cologne.

politics

Günter Herterich had been a member of the SPD in Cologne since 1963, where he had held a number of party offices since 1967, first deputy chairman of the local association. Then he was also a member of the Cologne sub-district from 1971 to 1973, from 1974 deputy chairman of the Cologne sub-district, from 1979 chairman of the Cologne sub-district and from 1975 assessor of the Central Rhine district committee. Until 1979 he was a member of the party council.

In 1971 he was elected to the Cologne City Council; here he became deputy group chairman in 1972 and from 1975 he functioned as group chairman.

1979 became the party chairman (sub-district executive) of the Cologne SPD.

Herterich had been a member of the public services, transport and traffic union since 1972.

Günter Herterich was from May 28, 1975 to May 28, 1980 directly elected member of the 8th State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 014 Cologne-Stadt I.

From 1980 to 1987 Herterich was a member of the 9th and 10th German Bundestag for the Cologne IV constituency .

He died in April 2014.
