Günter Monczyk

Günter Monczyk (born March 28, 1940 in Mohrungen , East Prussia ) is a former German judoka who won three medals at European championships.

Günter Monczyk was German amateur heavyweight champion in 1963. Also in 1963, the German team won the silver medal behind the team from the Soviet Union at the European Team Championships in Geneva. At the European Championships in Madrid in 1965 Monczyk reached the final, where he was defeated by Parnaos Chikwiladze from the Soviet Union. Monczyk won a bronze medal at the European Championships in 1966 and 1968 .

Günter Monczyk fought for the police sports association Borussia Düsseldorf .
