from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Günther Trautmann (born April 21, 1940 ) is a German mathematician who deals with algebraic geometry and complex analysis. He is a professor at the University of Kaiserslautern .

Günther Trautmann, Kaiserslautern 1976

Trautmann studied from 1960 at the University of Göttingen , where he received his doctorate in 1965 under Hans Grauert ( A continuity theorem for the continuation of coherent analytical sheaves ). From 1965 he was an assistant at the University of Frankfurt am Main , where he completed his habilitation in 1969 and was a private lecturer, from 1970 to 1972 at the University of Münster and since 1972 full professor in Kaiserslautern.

He dealt with complex analysis and complex geometry (sheaf theory), algebraic geometry (including module spaces of vector bundles on projective varieties, sheaves on toric varieties ) including applications in mathematical physics (such as module spaces of instantons) and applications of computer algebra.
