The GAA5000 ( G ebäude a utomatisierungs a nLocation 5000 ) was a computer came to be used as control center for residential and public buildings. With the help of the GDR's state housing program , it became more widespread.

technology

The computer including the ANA-000 monitor was housed in a large metal housing. The K7610 keyboard was not permanently installed and could easily be replaced if necessary. At a price of M 4,541.00 it was one of the most expensive models in the GDR.

The bus system is based on the EIA-422 standard , but uses 60VDC as the maximum output voltage. The main memory of the computers in the control center and the automation stations could each be up to 64 KB. Parts of the RAM could be buffered with a battery.
