definition

For air surveillance, the management of air operations and with the aim of fulfilling the military mission, GIADS is used as a full-fledged combat command system (GefFüSys, also command and weapon deployment system of the Air Force - FüWES Lw ) of the EinsFüDstLw in the stationary Control and Reporting Center (CRC) and in the deployable CRC (DCRC) used operationally by the Bundeswehr Air Force .

history

Up to the year 2000 the ACC system ARKONA was used in EinsFüDstLw as a standard FüWES. It was then gradually replaced by the successor system GIADS. In July 2000 the first GIADS CRC went into operational use with GIADS 1 in Schönewalde . Since then, GIADS has been updated, further developed and improved. GIADS III has been in use since the end of 2010.
