GIGA software is the German-language download portal of technology - the online magazine GIGA in Berlin based ECONA Internet AG. The download portal was founded in 1997 under the name "Winload.de" by Michael Pirro. In mid-2013 Giga and "Winload.de" merged. The software offer can be found today on a subpage of GIGA.
Giga Software offers programs, drivers and games for Windows , macOS and apps for Android and iOS as well as add-ons for free download . The Giga online magazine offers other subject areas such as GIGA Games , GIGA Apple or GIGA Android .
Winload.de
In 2003, 2004 and 2007 Winload.de won the OnlineStar Audience Award in the Computer and Technology category . In 2010, Winload.de took 3rd place in the OnlineStar Audience Award in the Best Software Download Site category .
Due to a toolbar that was installed with the download of the offered software from 2007 onwards, Winload.de's reputation was considered bad. At the end of 2012, however, the editorial team was completely replaced and it was ensured that said toolbar is no longer integrated into the downloads.
