The GMT Gummi-Metall-Technik GmbH is a manufacturer of shock absorbers and other machine parts for various industries based in Baden Buehl .

The product portfolio includes engine, generator and transmission bearings, bushings, cone bearings and composite springs. In relation to individual industries, machine feet for general mechanical engineering, pull-push rods for aircraft construction, rollers and chain cushions for the construction of armored tracked vehicles, as well as ball joints, axle bearings and wedge assemblies for rail vehicles. With a sales share of 43% in the 2017 financial year, the rail vehicle industry was the company's most important customer. A further 21% of sales in 2017 were accounted for by products for use in aviation, 15.5% of sales were generated with sales to companies in the general mechanical engineering sector.

GMT was founded in 1968 by Gerhard and Atina Engstler. A production plant in Ireland was established in 1975 as the first foreign subsidiary. Further branches in Switzerland, Malaysia and the USA followed. From 1990, production in Bühl had to be expanded at regular intervals. Extensions took place in 1990, 1995, 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2015. A production site was also set up in India in 2006. Since 2019 there has been a production in Sangerhausen in Saxony-Anhalt .
