GPRS roaming exchange

GPRS Roaming Exchange ( GRX ) is a centralized IP network that connects the GPRS networks of the mobile network operators with one another and thus enables worldwide roaming. GRX is specified in the IR.34 recommendations set by the International Roaming Expert Group (IREG) of the GSM Association . GPRS roaming is necessary for a smooth transition to international 3G cellular services.

GRX provider

GRX providers such as B. the Deutsche Telekom or Telia Company provide GRX transport networks, via which mobile network providers can enable the GPRS roaming exchange. The providers peer at large meeting points, such as B. the AMS-IX .
