Gabriel Baur

Gabriel Baur (* before 1962), also known as Gabrielle Baur , is a film director and author.

life and work

Gabriel Baur came to film through visual arts, acting and ethnology. After completing her Master of Arts with a thesis on film at the University of Zurich, she attended the film school at New York University. She deepened her knowledge of directing and screenwriting with Wojciech Marczewski (PL), Krzysztof Kieslowski (PL) and Frank Daniel (USA) a. a.

Films as screenwriter and director (selection): Venus Boyz , Die Bettkönigin, Cada día historia, The exception and the rule, One To Zero, A Tale. Her films have been shown nationally and internationally in cinemas and at festivals and have received multiple awards.

She is the co-founder of Onix film production. Lecturer, u. a. at the Zurich University of the Arts , 2003–2010. Since 2010 Vice President of the European Directing Association FERA for the Swiss Association for Screenplay and Directing ARF / FDS. Gabriel Baur is a member of the Swiss Film Academy and the European Film Academy EFA .
