Gabriel Frisching

Gabriel Frisching ( April 4, 1656 in Bern - November 16, 1735 ibid) was a Swiss politician.

Life

Frisching, son of Bailiff Albrecht, began a career in office after studying and doing a doctorate at the high schools in Bern (1670) and Lausanne (1674). He held political offices (1680 Grand Council , 1708 Small Council , 1719 Venner zu Metzgern) and administrative offices (1692 Schultheiss von Burgdorf, 1715 witness ). In 1718 he acquired the lordship and castle Wil (Gem. Schlosswil) and had the family's town house (Sässhaus) built on Kramgasse.

He was married twice, in 1678 to Katharina Steiger and in 1708 to Armanda May, both from Bernese council families.
