Gabriel Grant

Gabriel Grant (born September 4, 1826 in Newark , † November 8, 1909 in Manhattan ) was an American doctor.

Grant distinguished himself in particular in the American Civil War and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor .

He worked u. a. during the battles of Bull Run , Fair Oaks, Gaines Mills , Peach Orchard Station, White Oak Swamp, Malvern Hill , Antietam , Fredericksburg and Vicksburg as a doctor.

His son was the writer Madison Grant .
