Gabriele Hammelrath

Gabriele Hammelrath (born March 10, 1953 in Leverkusen ) is a German educator and member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia ( SPD ).

biography

After graduating from high school in 1971, Gabriele Hammelrath studied pedagogy, psychology and sociology at the University of Cologne , graduating as a qualified pedagogue. 1980–1985 she worked in a management consultancy in the areas of personnel, organization and marketing. Since 1985 she worked at the Adult Education Center in Cologne , from 2005 to May 31, 2012 as head of the Office for Further Education of the City of Cologne.

She has a daughter.

She has been a member of the ÖTV trade union , today ver.di, since 1976 . Since 1978 the member of the SPD . During this time she was SPD local chairwoman in Cologne-Ehrenfeld for seven years. For eight years she was sub-district chairwoman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (ARSP) in Cologne. Since 2007 she has been deputy SPD sub-district chairwoman in Cologne. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , she won a direct mandate in the Cologne III state electoral district . She has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament since May 31, 2012 . She is a member of several state parliament committees. In 2013 Hammelrath was appointed as a deputy member of the NRW Constitutional Commission, which was constituted on November 19, 2013 and is dedicated to reforming the North Rhine-Westphalian constitution.
