Gaius Aufidius Marcellus

Gaius Aufidius Marcellus was a 3rd century Roman politician and senator .

Despite two consulates, little is known about Marcellus' career. As for his origin and descent, the PIR suggests a relationship with Senator Aufidius Coresnius Marcellus, who came from Sagalassos in Pamphylia . Around 205 Marcellus became a suffect consul , then proconsul of Asia (between 219 and 222) and in 226 he became an ordinary consul .
