Gaius Cornelius Minicianus
Gaius Cornelius Minicianus was an imperial official at the time of Emperor Trajan . He was a knight from Bergomum and a friend of Pliny the Younger . He is the recipient of Pliny 3,9; 4.11 and 8.12. In a letter to Quintus Pompeius Falco , Pliny recommended Minicianus as an official and described him as an “ornament for my district” (“ornamentum regionis meae”).
Under Falco, Minicianus became prefect of the first Damascene cohort in Palestine and later a military tribune in Africa. He is also attested as one of the first holders of the rather new office of curator rei publicae .
