Gaius Maesius Titianus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gaius Maesius Titianus was a Roman politician and senator .

Titianus came from a family that provided numerous officials in the highest imperial administration. Only the consulate of Titianus is known, which he held together with Emperor Philip Arabs in 245 .

Titianus may be identical to Gaius Maesius Aquillius Fabius Titianus , who is mentioned on an inscription from Thermae Himeraeae clarissimus vir and consul and who in turn could be the son of Maesius Fabius Titianus , a clarissimus puer from 197 or 198. It is possible that Titianus is also identical with the consular of the same name and father of the patrician Titianus of an inscription also from Thermae Himeraeae.
