Gaius Valerius Florinus

Gaius Valerius Florinus (full name form Gaius Valerius Luci filius Quirina Florinus ) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

Two stages of his career are known through an inscription found in Praeneste . Florinus was initially prefect of the Cohors II Thracum Syriaca , which was stationed in the province of Syria . He then became a tribune in Legio VII Claudia . He was enrolled in the Quirina tribe .

  1. According to Werner Eck , Andreas Pangerl, the inscription can be dated to the Hadrian era.
