Galaxy Aerospace was an American aircraft manufacturer of business aircraft based at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth , Texas .

history

To market the IAI 1125 Astra SPX, Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd. founded (IAI) together with the Pritzker Group (Hyatt Corporation) founded the joint venture company Galaxy Aerospace, based in Princeton, New Jersey. Since 1997, Galaxy Aerospace has been responsible for the entire production and marketing of business aircraft for Israel Aircraft Industries. In the same year Galaxy Aerospace relocated to Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas.

In 2001 Galaxy Aerospace was acquired by General Dynamics for $ 330 million and incorporated into Gulfstream Aerospace , which has been owned since 1999 . With the takeover, production was relocated to Dallas Love Field Airport , Texas.

Current

Production of the Gulfstream G100 was discontinued in 2005 and that of the Gulfstream G200 after 250 units in December 2011.
Based on an agreement with General Dynamics on the takeover of Galaxy Aerospace, the successor models Gulfstream G150 and G280 will continue to be built at Israel Aerospace Industries in Tel Aviv and then transferred to the Gulfstream plant in Dallas, Texas for painting and interior decoration.
