The Galgenberg Tower is the most important symbol of the Spiesen-Elversberg community . It was built by citizens of Elversberg on Spieser Grund between 1937 and 1939 at the time of National Socialism and was inaugurated on July 8, 1939 as the Adolf Hitler Tower. For financial reasons, the rose garden has been less well maintained in recent years. For this reason there are also plans to reduce the size of the garden. In spring 2017, as part of the "Picobello" campaign by the Saar Disposal Association, volunteers and the community's building yard cleaned and botanically restored the rose garden.

Occasionally the immediate vicinity of the tower, especially the open space east of the tower, is used for events. In the past there was, for example, "Tower in Flames" with fireworks to match the music, a concert "Klassik am Turm" and, most recently, in the summer of 2014 an open air cinema at which the French comedy " Pretty Best Friends " was shown has been.
