Gallo (dt. Hahn ) is a Guatemalan beer brand of the brewery Cervecería Centro Americana SA Gallo is the most common brand in Guatemala and was the first Guatemalan trademark of the American Marketing Association, New York, in the 2004 Hall of Fame added. The Cervecería Centro Americana had until 2003 a market share close to 100% on the Guatemalan beer market. Meanwhile, the only relevant competing product, Brahva, from the Brazilian brewery Companhia de Bebidas das Américas , which belongs to the Belgian InBev group, is becoming increasingly popular. Gallo's market share for 2007 is still estimated at 87%.

Gallo has also been exported to Mexico since 1993, initially only in small quantities to the state of Chiapas . A lighter version called Gallo Draft has been marketed throughout Mexico since 2004 . In the USA and France, the beer is offered under the Famosa brands as well as Gallito and Gallo Draft .

The Kiene brothers from Germany founded the state brewery in Quezaltenango and introduced various types of beer, including a. the lager. In the twenties the brothers sold the brewery. The brewery then merged with a brewery in Guatemala City , which then became the Gallo beer brand. The history of Gallo goes back to the end of the 19th century. The brothers Mariano and Raffael Castillo Córdova started brewing beer in Guatemala City in 1881 under the name "Castillo Hermanos". In 1896 a lager was introduced, which soon after received a picture of a rooster (Spanish: "Gallo") on the label for identification. Initially only known as lager beer, the name Gallo soon became popular with consumers . The name Gallo has also appeared on the labels since 1926.

In its more than 100-year history, Gallo has only been sold under five different labels; the font and stylized cock's head that are still in use today have been used since 1960.

Gallo is offered in several varieties:
