Gama Goat is an American semi- amphibious vehicle with a payload of 1.25 tons. The three-axle vehicle is in two parts, all wheels are driven (6 × 6) and two axles are steerable. It was constructed on behalf of the ARPA for the impassable and partly swampy combat area in the Vietnam War . The manufacturer of the completely newly developed military vehicle was Ling-Temco-Vought (North Carolina).

There are two military versions : M561 and M792 (medical service). The American armed forces used the vehicle from the 1970s to the 1990s. 15,274 Gama Goats were sold for $ 8,000 each.
