Gantel

Gantel

The Gantel is a tidal body of water the width of a brook that runs from Westland through Monster and Poeldijk , among other places , and flows into the Schie near Delft . It is also called the Ur-Gantel because it no longer exists in its original form; partly due to siltation and because the Fossa Corbulonis canal, dug in the first century AD by the Roman army under the Roman commander Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo, used and changed parts of the course of the stream.
