Gardinia is a manufacturing company in the field of curtain technology / sun protection systems based in Isny im Allgäu and Bünde .
history
In February 1950 the company was founded as a curtain rail factory in Isny. The patented wooden rail was initially with the curious slogan “Bad neighbors and ghosts often look through your window. So choose Gardinia with overflow when buying curtains. ” Advertised. Over the years, the company expanded its product range from the pure manufacture of classic curtain rails to the production and trade of products for everything to do with windows. Today, the range of products includes roller blinds , panel curtains , pleated blinds , vertical systems , blinds (sun protection systems) as well as curtain rods, Vitra products, rope tensioning sets or decorative accessories (curtain technology) . In the 1970s and 1980s, the company for interior decoration and sun protection divided its business areas into Gardinia SB for the DIY market and Alugard for specialist retailers and interior decorators . Gardinia has also been running the Klöckner brand with series products for the furniture trade since 2013 .
In 2006, managing director Reinhard Heidemann took over the group in a management buy-out (51%) together with Hunter Douglas NV (49%). Gardinia has branches in Central and Eastern Europe.
