Garmendia
Garmendia is the name of an old, originally Hidalgo - noble family from the Basque Country in Spain . The family, some of which still exist today, belongs to the ancient Basque nobility.
The Garmendia come from the north of Castile , mainly from Azpeitia and Tolosa in the Basque Country. Some members of the family came to power and wealth in Argentina and Chile in the early 17th century .
