architecture
The Gartenstraße is an old connection road from Rheydt to Mönchengladbach. House no. 170 dates from 1921 and is the design for the private house of the then city architect Walter Fischer.
The brick building is well balanced, but without any special features. Basement, two floors and a half-hipped roof complete the house. The facade shows 2: 3 axes .
The residential building, conceived by the architect as a model house, is a successful and typical example of a single-family home from the 1920s. That is why it is worth protecting from a building history perspective.
