Gary Johnson (born July 20, 1980 in Grimsby ) is a British motorcycle racer . He drives street races and competes in the British Superbike Championship and the 600cc national endurance championship .

Career

The trained electrician Gary Johnson repeatedly draws attention to himself with podium places in the British championships or road races such as the North West 200 . He gained fame beyond the borders of Great Britain through his two victories at the Isle of Man TT . In 2005 he won the national British Supersport Cup . Johnson's career has also been marked by spectacular accidents. In 2006 he crashed at the season opener. Due to the severe back injury he sustained, he had to sit out until 2007. In 2014 he fell on the Isle of Man where he was seriously injured again. In the 2015 TT, he got away without injury in a serious accident on the last lap of the first race.

Johnson founded his own racing team in 2011, relying on the two brands Triumph and Kawasaki .
