Gary Paterson
Gary Paterson (* 1949 in Whitehorse , Yukon ) was the moderator of the United Church of Canada .
Life
Paterson studied English literature and theology in Boston and at the Vancouver School of Theology . In 1977 he was ordained a minister in the United Church of Canada. From August 18, 2012 to 2015, Paterson was Mardi Tindal's successor in the office of moderator in the United Church of Christ. He was succeeded in office by Jordan Cantwell . Paterson has a same-sex marriage to Canadian politician Tim Stevenson . Paterson has three children from a first marriage. The family lives in Vancouver .
