Gas Processors Association

The Gas Processors Association (GPA for short) is the American association of the gas processing industry.

history

The GPA was founded in 1921, at that time still under the name Association of Natural Gasoline Manufacturers (German: Association of Natural Gasoline Manufacturers ). The main motivation of the founders was the desire for standards for

  • Products
  • transport
  • safety

The name was introduced in 1974 to take into account the growing importance of natural gas .

In 2007, all the major companies in the sector, 105 in number, were organized in the GPA.

Annual meeting

The GPA holds a large conference every spring (2008 is the 87th), which brings together hundreds of engineers and scientists from the GPA member companies and various other scientific institutions. The focus is on technical developments as well as current market and product developments.
