The Gasometer Triesen on the area of the former cotton weaving mill in Triesen , Liechtenstein , has been offering a varied program of art exhibitions, themed exhibitions, events and other cultural activities in the fields of fine arts, music, theater, dance and literature since the beginning of 2006.
The cultural center of the municipality of Triesen is located in the part of the cotton weaving mill that also includes the old gasometer tower. This tower, in which about 120 years ago gas was still stored for the lighting of the factory, gives the cultural center in Triesen its name: Gasometer - cultural center of the municipality of Triesen .
history
In 1863 the cotton weaving mill Jenny, Spoerry & Cie in Triesen was put into operation. The former production building has been a listed building since 1996 . In the meantime, there are various institutions on the area (schools, radio studio, exhibition space for old looms, old forge with the open workshop, and much more).
