In 1944 the medieval house was completely destroyed in an Allied air raid. Immediately after the end of the war, his successor Franz Feldhaus and his wife Margret began rebuilding the house, which was reopened on October 5, 1948. In 1980/81 Franz Feldhaus handed over the catering business to his sons Franz-Julius and Georg Feldhaus. The Cafe Schucan in the style of Viennese coffee house culture and the Gasthaus Stuhlmacher were a gastronomic couple on the Prinzipalmarkt in Münster.
