history

The two-storey, plastered half-timbered building at Leonberger Straße 10 with a bricked ground floor and vaulted cellar essentially dates from the 17th century. In 1807 the inn was rebuilt and in 1932 a cellar was added, into which a bowling alley was later built. In 1961 an extension for a bank branch was built above the bowling alley. In 1975 the restaurant was thoroughly renovated again. A few years later, the restaurant was stopped. After renewed renovation, in 2003 the building became the seat of the city's senior citizens' meeting place, Treffpunkt Adler .

In 1814, the later Württemberg finance minister, Andreas von Renner , was born in the Adler as the son of the butcher, Adlerwirt and Ditzingen councilor Johann Gottfried Renner.
