The Gasthof Hirschen is a historic restaurant in Grüningen in the Swiss canton of Zurich .

In 1541 the "Hirschen" is mentioned as a tavern. After the fire in the small town - Grüningen had town charter - in 1551 the house was rebuilt. The north-east and south facades were part of the city wall. Between the inn and the "Richthus" (Richthaus) there was a city ​​gate until 1844 , through which the Stedtligasse led.

In 1603 the interior of the house was redesigned; the interiors received wall and ceiling paintings. The dining room was upstairs, where now Säli is. The paneling and the built-in buffet date from 1768. The Hirschen was verifiably a tavern around 1715 as well. A bakery was housed until 1800 and a butcher's shop until 1973. A comprehensive restoration and refurbishment followed in 1988 and 1989.
