President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board
The President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board ( PERAB for short ) is an advisory body to the United States government . It was introduced by President Barack Obama on November 26, 2008 and established on February 6, 2009. The board is since its foundation by the former Chairman of the Central Bank , Paul Volcker headed. On February 8, 2011, Volcker resigned from office. The Economic Recovery Advisory Board follows the model of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board established by Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956.
The board's task is to prepare regular reports on the financial crisis and possible measures to counteract its negative effects.
Every two years it is to be checked whether the body should continue to exist.
