Gaston Reinesch

Gaston Reinesch (born May 17, 1958 ) is a Luxembourg economist , visiting professor at the University of Luxembourg and since January 1, 2013 Governor of the Luxembourg Central Bank ( Banque centrale du Luxembourg ). Before that he was a member of the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank (EIB) until the end of 2012 .

Life

Reinesch holds a diploma from the London School of Economics and began his professional career in 1984 as an economic advisor to the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce ( Chambre de Commerce ), after which he switched to the public sector in 1989. In 1995 he became Director General in the Ministry of Finance and in 2002 President of the National Credit and Investment Company ( Société Nationale de Crédit et d'Investissement ).
