The television series crooks against crooks (original title: The Rogues ) ran from September 1964 to April 1965 on the American broadcaster NBC . Her pointed, elegant style, fine humor and sophistication were the hallmarks of these crime comedies and immediately earned her an enthusiastic fan base.
Although the series is still very popular today, it could not achieve the desired quota at the time - not least because of a poor broadcasting slot - and was canceled after 30 episodes. Nevertheless, it was awarded the Golden Globe for best television series for this first season .

history

The series first ran on German television in 1968, but only 20 of the 30 episodes were broadcast.

The idea for the series came from the scriptwriters and producers Ben Roberts and Ivan Goff , who later also created the series Charlie's Angels .

Script and production

The main roles were David Niven , Charles Boyer , Robert Coote , Gig Young and Gladys Cooper to see. They all play members of two highly respected, respectable families, one in France, the other in England and America, who have made considerable fortunes through their trickery.

In each episode, one of the main characters was the main actor; the others then only made small guest appearances. The distribution of the main roles depended on the other shooting schedules of the sought-after actors who continued to shoot movies at the same time.
