Gavriil Sakellaridis
Gavriil Sakellaridis ( Greek Γαβριήλ Σακελλαρίδης , born August 20, 1980 in Nea Smyrni ) is a Greek economic expert and politician of the SYRIZA party . On January 27, 2015, he became government spokesman for the Tsipras government and State Secretary to Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras . As part of the government reshuffle on July 18, 2015, Sakellaridis lost his office to Olga Gerovasili .
He ran for the post of Mayor of Athens in the municipal elections in May 2014 . He advocated a more open city, fewer police and a better quality of life. On the first lap he finished second; in the runoff between him and the incumbent mayor Giorgos Kaminis , the latter just won (51.6 to 48.4 percent).
