Gay Men's Health Crisis

Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) is the world's oldest and largest not for profit organization serving people with AIDS . The organization was founded in January 1982 in New York City . Founders of the organization were: Arthur Bell, Nathan Fain, Larry Kramer , Larry Mass, Paul Popham, Paul Rapoport and Edmund White .

Together with 200 employees, over 6,000 volunteers provide support for individuals and families in the social, educational, legal and medical fields. Complemented by professional educational work to the wider public and political representation of people with HIV and AIDS, GMHC makes a major contribution to overcoming the problems associated with this disease.

At the GMHC volunteers work to educate the HIV-negative population as well as social work for people with HIV and AIDS. They also work on ongoing research projects, primarily by collecting data.
