The buildings Kapitän-Alexander-Strasse 34-40 with the Netzhalle in Cuxhaven at the Nordseekai in the fishing port area at the old fishing port have been under the protection of historical monuments in Lower Saxony since 1988 and are included in the list of architectural monuments in Cuxhaven .

history

The two-storey clinkered building from 1920, the former warehouse and former administration building of the Nordsee-Reederei , with its distinctive gable with the two bay windows and the two upper storage hatches and the crane beam as well as the mansard roof was built for the Cuxhavener Hochseefischerei AG founded in 1908. Next to it is the old, listed two-storey former network hall, which is to be converted, although the wooden structure must be preserved.

The current administration building belongs to Niedersachsen Ports (NPorts). The Vocational School for Care of Paritätische Cuxhaven and the Chanty Choir in the fair are located here .

Further monuments in the fish harbor are u. a .: the old fishing port with the North Sea, Duge and Meinkenkai, the warehouse building Kapitän-Alexander-Straße 31 and as a group the fish hall VI, fish hall IV and fish hall V.
