Gebhard Böckle

Gebhard Böckle (* 1964 in Herrenberg ) is a German mathematician and professor at the University of Heidelberg .

After graduating from high school in 1983, Böckle completed a degree in mathematics at the University of Stuttgart , which he completed in 1989 with a diploma. He then received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign until 1995 . Böckle completed his habilitation in 2002 at the ETH Zurich and was professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen from 2003 to 2010 . Since 2010 he has been working as a professor at Heidelberg University.

His research areas include a. in the areas of arithmetic geometry , modular forms , p-adic numbers and L-functions .

Gebhard Böckle heads the Computational Arithmetic Geometry working group at the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing at Heidelberg University .
