Gediminas Miškinis
Gediminas Miškinis (born February 7, 1961 in Biržai ) is a Lithuanian civil servant and former politician , vice minister and sports official.
Life
After graduating from high school in 1979 at the 10th Panevėžys Middle School in Skaistakalnis , he graduated in 1984 with a diploma in business cybernetics at Vilnius University . From 1984 to 1991 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Economic Planning . From 1991 to 1992 he headed a sub-department and from 1992 to 1995 the department at the Ministry of Economy of Lithuania . From 1996 to 2002 he was Deputy Minister , from 2002 to 2009 State Secretary and from 2009 Chancellor at the Ministry of Economic Affairs. From 2016 to 2017 he was Chancellor of Vilnius University, in 2017 Advisor to the Mayor and 2017-2018 Deputy Director of the Vilnius Municipality Administration .
In 2009 he was named the best Lithuanian annual official by the weekly Veidas . He was president of the Chess Federation of Lithuania .
