The Geelan Piedmont Glacier is a foreland glacier that forms the northern end of the Antarctic Rothschild Island off the northwest coast of Alexander I Island .
The British Antarctic Survey carried out surveys between 1975 and 1977. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1980 after Patrick John Michael Geelan (* 1926), from 1955 to 1979 Secretary of the Permanent Committee on Geographical Names for British Official Use .
