The Gehring-Bunte Beverages Industry GmbH & Co. KG is a German beverage producer and one of the best known companies in the mineral water market in Germany. Today, the company is best known for its Christinen brand , which produces organic premium mineral water as well as soft drinks, fruit juice and tea drinks and was registered in the trademark register as early as 1966. The company is based in the East Westphalian city of Bielefeld .

Company history

Founded in Gütersloh by Franz Bunte in 1895, the company initially concentrated on the sale of beer, lemonades and mineral water. When responsibility was handed over to Paul Gehring, Franz Bunte's son-in-law, the company was renamed "Gehring-Bunte".

From 1934 to 2007 the family business took over the production of Coca-Cola for its own sales area.

In 1955, the third generation of management finally passed to Dr. jur. Paul Gehring and master brewer Werner Gehring, the sons of Paul Gehring Senior.

Premium mineral water, soft drinks, fruit juice and tea drinks have been sold under the Christinen brand since 1966. The company fills beverages in almost all commercially available container types and sizes.

Under the managing director Guido Grebe, the company has been investing increasingly in technology, construction and digitization since 2018. One example is the investment in a fully automated high-bay warehouse with 8,700 pallet spaces. This expanded the company's storage capacity to a total of 30,000 pallet spaces. A building complex with social rooms, a canteen, new laboratories and offices was also modernized.

Brands and product portfolio

With Christinen , the company has a well-known brand for mineral water, soft fruit juice, tea and sports drinks, which are bottled for both the national and international markets.

The Christinen mineral water, which is used as a natural basic ingredient for all Christinen products, is certified by the SGS Fresenius Institute as premium mineral water in organic quality and for social and ecological sustainability. It is protected by many layers of rock and extracted from a source in the Teutoburg Forest with a depth of over 400 meters.

The Christinen range is continuously adapted to current trends and the requirements of the market. This is currently evident, for example, in environmentally friendly reusable packaging, especially the high proportion of glass bottles.

The products of the Christinen brand are available in different packaging shapes and sizes, for example an individual bottle specially developed for the catering industry, PET non-returnable or returnable bottles and Tetra Paks. The brand became known with the characteristic blue glass bottle.
