Cash deposit machine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A money deposit machine is an ATM at which either only cash can be deposited or also withdrawn .

Combined devices

With some technical solutions, the cash supply of the machine is replenished with every deposit, so that the operating credit institution / authority / company has less staff to refill it. This process is also called cash recycling .

Pure deposit machines

Pure deposit machines are also used in various areas, for example for fee collection in authorities, parking lot tills or as entry machines.

Coin and bill testing

In older-style machines, the amount of money had to be checked regularly for counterfeit money , so that the hoped-for cost advantage was only partially effective. However, these systems had an effective segregation of deposited funds, e.g. B. by bags or value boxes, so that an exact allocation of the funds to the customer was possible. Modern coin and bill validators offer almost 100% detection reliability for counterfeit money. More than 60,000 points are electronically checked per note, usually including security features that cannot be seen with the naked eye, e.g. B. Magnetism .
