Community Enlila

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Geme-Enlila ( transliteration : Géme- d En-líl-lá ; Géme-Enlil-ak ) was a queen of Ur and wife of the last king of the 3rd Dynasty of Ur , Ibbi-Sîn . According to the middle chronology , she lived at the end of the 21st century BC. So far it has been attested in a total of four texts with full titles.

There are also a number of texts in which only your name is mentioned without a title. The fact that next to her a princess and a Ninurta priestess of this name are known has sparked some discussion. It was sometimes assumed that she was sister Ibbi-Sîns - so this was a singular case of a sibling marriage . This is contradicted by the fact that this leads to chronological problems and that texts testify to the delivery of goods to several people with this name. It should therefore be necessary to differentiate between these people. Where the queen comes from is therefore unknown.
