Knudsen started at B52 / Aalborg at the age of 17, but moved to Danish champions Fortuna Hjørring after just one year and reached the final of the 2002/03 UEFA Women's Cup against Umeå IK with the team in 2003 , both of which were lost. The 2009 and 2010 championships followed, then she moved to Linköpings FC, with whom she won the Swedish Women's Football Cup in 2014 and 2015 and reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League in the 2014/15 season . She scored in the second leg against Brøndby IF to make it 1-1. Since they had previously lost the first leg at home with 1-0, they were eliminated by their compatriots. She had previously scored the last goal in the first leg of the last 16 in a 5-0 win against Zvezda 2005 Perm . After winning the Swedish championship in 2016, she ended her career.

National teams

After Knudsen had previously run through the junior women's teams and reached the semi-finals of the U-19 European Women's Football Championship in 2002 with the U-19 team , she played her first international match on October 5, 2003 at the age of 18 at the 6th : 1 against Belgium in Brussels in qualifying for EM 2005 . Denmark then qualified for the European Championship, Knudsen was appointed to the squad and was used in the first two games. With a 1: 2 against Finland in the last group game, in which they were not used, the Danes were eliminated as third party due to the direct comparison. She was also part of the squad for the 2015 World Cup, in which Denmark was eliminated in the group stage and thus missed qualifying for the 2008 Olympic Games. This did not succeed in two qualifying games against Sweden, which were lost 2: 4 and 1: 3 and in which she was in the starting line-up.

At the Algarve Cup 2009 , world champions Germany were defeated 1-0 in the game for third place. This was followed by a 15-month international break due to a torn cruciate ligament , so that she could not take part in the 2009 European Championships .

In qualifying for the 2011 World Cup , she managed her first international goal on June 19, 2010 in her 56th international match and first international match after the injury-related break in a 7-0 win against Greece and Denmark finished the group as group winners, but failed in the subsequent playoffs but again to Sweden. On the other hand, Denmark was able to qualify again for the 2013 European Women's Football Championship and in the opening game in the 1-1 draw against hosts Sweden, she scored the first tournament goal. In the semifinals against Norway she managed to equalize 1-1 in the 87th minute, which led to extra time and a subsequent penalty shoot- out. The Danes lost this but with 2: 4 and thus missed the first entry into a European Championship final.

The qualification for the 2015 World Cup was then clearly missed with 10 points behind the Swiss women who had qualified for the first time as third party.

After she made two appearances in qualifying for the 2017 European Championship , she was not considered for the 2016 Algarve Cup and the qualifying game in April 2016.
