Church planting movement

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The church planting movement is a Christian group within the free congregations that aims to bring new congregations into being around the world.

In the 1980s , research conducted by mission societies found that the most successful form of internal and external mission was planting new churches.

Then the organization DAWN was brought into being, which wants to promote and support the idea of church planting and church planting projects. Certain goals are set and after a period of time it is checked whether these goals have actually been achieved (for example, for Brazil 180,000 new parishes since 1992). C. Peter Wagner writes that within the DAWN movement, 7 million new churches must be planted in order to fulfill the mission command of Matthew 28 . That number has been increased to 20 million by 2020 by Dawn Ministries.
