Community Center Bridge

The community center Brücke in the Rostock district of Groß Klein is the church of the riverside community in the Rostock provost in the Mecklenburg parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany . The church building is a modern, purpose-built structure for church services, community work and pastors' accommodation.

history

In the years from 1979 to around 1985, the prefabricated housing estates in Schmarl and Groß Klein were built and over 30,000 people moved to these districts. The parishes of Schmarl and the Groß Kleiner Ufergemeinde were established in 1982/83. From 1985 the church was represented with a church wagon (construction wagon) in large and small. There were already active people under the roof of the church, who planted roses and bushes in large and small around 1981.

The Brücke community center was inaugurated in 1988 and used by both parishes. The separate belfry with two bells (gift from the partner community Bad Salzuflen ) was inaugurated in 1991. On January 1, 2005, both parishes merged and kept the name Ufergemeinde. The Brückenschlag community shop was opened for community work in Schmarl . The parish wants to be a church “with a low entry threshold” and offers special offers for residents with a migration background. In 2005 there were around 1580 parishioners in the parish; in 2016 the number was also in this range.
