The GEMINI collective foundation , based in Schwyz , claims to be an independent Swiss pension fund .
Companies
As a collective foundation, it insures the staff of its affiliated companies in the field of old-age provision under the 2nd pillar . Every company runs at least one pension fund, which is managed like an in-house, semi-autonomous pension fund with its own balance sheet and operating account. The pension capital is pooled. GEMINI offers four investment pools with different risk profiles.
The GEMINI Foundation was established in 1977 and is organized in the legal form of a foundation . At the end of 2019, a total of 303 pension funds from independent companies with 27,359 insured persons and 4,119 pensioners were affiliated with it. The managed pension capital amounted to 5,519 billion Swiss francs.
Legal bases
The legal basis is formed by the Federal Law on Occupational Old-Age, Survivors 'and Disability Pension Plans , the Federal Law on Freedom of Movement in Occupational Old-Age, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans (Freedom of Movement Act, FZG) and the related ordinances. The legal basis also includes the GEMINI collective foundation's own regulations.

The highest body of the GEMINI collective foundation is the foundation board . This is composed equally of three employer and employee representatives. Avadis Vorsorge AG is responsible for operational management . This is responsible for management, administration, advice and foundation accounting. The investment strategy is implemented by an independent investment committee.
